The Power of Possibility

These last few weeks, I've been reminded of something I think we all need to hear right now — the power of possibility.
Possibility. All the things that could happen — good and bad — both carrying tremendous potential to shape our mindset, our energy, and ultimately, the direction of our lives.
So let's talk about both sides.
The Bad News
We all experience "the bad." The things that go wrong. The things we didn't see coming. The blind spots. The "completely out of our control" moments and all the aftermath that follows.
Should we focus our attention here? I think the answer is yes and no.
Yes — in the preparation sense. We know from experience that not everything goes according to plan. That doesn't mean we should obsess over every unknown, worst-case scenario… but it does mean we should be as ready as we reasonably can be. After all, that's the entire foundation the insurance industry is built on. It's the reason you keep a can of Fix-A-Flat in the trunk, build an emergency savings fund, stock up on extra food storage, and pack extra underpants when you travel.
…Or is that just me? 😂
Prepare for the improbable as if it were probable — and when that dumpster fire shows up, handle it like the hero you are.
The Power of Positive Possibility
Here's where it gets good.
What if you lived your life like everything and anything was a possibility — and with each of those possibilities came an opportunity?
I'll be honest. This is something I haven't always done well. It's not that I was negative. But I was always preparing for the worst, just in case… because who else was going to do it? It didn't overtake me, but when I look at where I split my energy and attention, I realize I could have allocated so much more to the possibility of things actually working out — and the opportunities those situations created — instead of pouring it all into being ready for when everything hit the fan.
Know Yourself. Trust Yourself.
The power of possibility also relies on our ability to be honest with ourselves — to truly know ourselves.
Life has given me more instances than I can count to prove that I am resilient and capable in the face of change and challenge, in the tough times and in the tragic times. And as I've reflected on that track record, I've had to ask myself a real question:
If I already know I can handle the hard stuff… why don't I spend more energy on the power of positive possibility?
The Shift
That realization was the spark I needed.
I made a conscious decision to adjust my outlook and my effort — diverting more energy toward the probability of positive possibility, while not losing sight of the negative.
The result?
More opportunity. More connection. Deeper connection. More satisfaction. More appreciation for the chapter of life I'm in — and genuine excitement for the ones ahead.
That's the power of possibility. And it's yours for the taking.
With Stupendous Love. ❤️
Remaining positive and how any action can provide an opportunity to transform a situation into one that you can gain perspective and grow is always how one should look at life's situations
